“Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.”

We preach and practice the ethological, natural, resistance-free training techniques of John Lyons, Monty Roberts, Tom and Bill Dorrance, Ray Hunt, Mark Rashid, Clinton Anderson, Frank Bell, Sally Swift, Linda Tellington-Jones, Alois Podhjofky of the Spanish Riding School, Frederic Pignon of Cavalia, and others of like mind. We believe in gently but firmly encouraging horses to be willing and respectful partners rather than breaking their spirits by forcing submission. Horses love to play, but they abhor being threatened. Horses are magnificent creatures - noble, gentle, intelligent, sensitive, willing and loving; they need to be able to trust us. Choose the length of training (hourly, weekly or monthly); let us know what your goals are, and we'll do our best to give you and your horse what you both want and need.

Our doors are always open to you, and we welcome your visit (announced or unannounced), within reasonable business hours, between 7 am and 11 pm. We are family owned and operated; we live here. Please respect our quiet hours from 11 pm - 7 am; we work very hard, starting before daybreak and ending long after nightfall, and we need our rest. Also, please respect the Ranch Rules at all times during your visit. Your horse's happiness and healthiness come first, always. So, if we have already worked your horse for the day, please don't ask us to tack them up and do it again so you can watch. We encourage you to come and watch, ask questions and learn what you will. Training includes lessons for you, so that you and your horse are on the same page. We are more than happy to explain at great length why we do everything that we do, and questions are encouraged. However, fault finding and nitpicking are not encouraged and are not welcome. We are doing the job you paid us to do, so please allow us to do it. If you can't make it for your training session & lesson, let us know in advance and reschedule for another day. It's not fair to your horse to leave them stand around waiting tacked up all day in the Texas heat. If your horse is in need of Bad Habit Therapy - please be honest about the Bad Habits. We cannot help either you or your horse otherwise. Also, if your horse hurts us while we're working with them, we can't work with your horse, or any other client's horse, while we are recuperating from our injuries. It's not fair to our other clients. We do unto others as we would have them do unto us.

RANCH RULES

* No one under 16 years old is allowed unless accompanied by a parent/guardian. Please keep all children under control. Climbing gates, fences, rock throwing, etc. is not permitted at any time!

*Hard hats are required while riding at all times. Safety vests required when jumping. Heeled, close-toed shoes and pants are required.

* No guests are allowed to ride unless they sign in and sign a liability release.

* Personal pets are highly discouraged, however if present, all pets must be leashed. Barking and/or out of control dogs will be asked to leave.

* No one under 16 years old is allowed in pastures at any time.

* Absolutely no running, shouting, cursing, gossip, or playing allowed. If you have a problem with someone at the barn, please speak directly to THAT person, not someone else. Conflicts are resolved by talking it out, not by gossip.

* Only three horses are allowed in an arena at one time; exceptions are group lessons (ex: pony club) who will be supervised AT ALL TIMES.

* Arena times are limited to 1 1/2 hours at a time. If no one is waiting, or on the reservation list, you may ride unlimited.

* If an arena has been reserved, you must wait until time is up before being allowed to enter.

* Follow proper arena rules while riding.

* Do not handfeed any horse. Treats may be given in the feed bowl or on the ground IF OWNER OF THE HORSE GIVES PERMISSION. This keeps fingers from being mistaken as treats.

* Clean up after your horse.

* NEVER use or handle anyone's horse, tack, etc. without explicit permission to do so!
